A great week of performances for former Cougars this weekend around the NFL.
Rob Morris, Colts Morris who hasn't had much production in the past few weeks, had a solid 8 tackles in the defensive battle against the Bills.
Ryan Denney, Bills Another Cougar was in the Colts-Bills battle, Ryan Denney. Denney had 2 tackles and was a starter on the Bills defense that held the high-powered Colts offense to only 17 points.
Colby Bockwoldt, Titans Bockwoldt had his best performance as a Titan on Sunday with a fumble recovery, along with three tackles.
Reno Mahe, Eagles Mahe was the top return man for the Eagles on Sunday with 2 Punt Returns for 18 yards, and 2 Kickoff Returns for 66 yards.
Aaron Francisco, Cardinals "Hawaiian Punch" had six tackles in the Cardinals eigth straight loss of the season.
Brady Poppinga, Packers Poppinga was very active recording three tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble. Poppinga now has 37 tackles on the season.
Brett Keisel, Steelers Keisel had his best game of the season with seven tackles and one sack, helping the Steelers get back to their winning ways with a surprising win over the Saints. Keisel's Steeler teammate Chris Hoke also had one tackle.

NFL hit its mid-way point of the season, this past week and here is how some Cougar Alumni fared in Week 9 games around the league.
Brady Poppinga, Packers Something the state of Wyoming has to actually be proud about, is Brady Poppinga the pride of Evanston. Poppinga was second in tackles for the Packers with 5 in a losing effort.
Ryan Denney, Bills Denney had 4 tackles in the victory over Poppinga's Packers. Denney has been struggling with injuries the past couple of weeks.
Itula Mili, Seahawks Mili had one reception for 5 yards during Monday night's slugfest with the Raiders.
Brett Keisel, Steelers Keisel recorded one tackle in a loss to the Broncos.
Colby Bockwoldt, Titans Bockwoldt had one tackle, he now has 7 tackles to date in very minimal playing time.

Brett Keisel and Chris Hoke, Steelers Keisel and Hoke each had two tackles in the surprising loss to the Raiders in Oakland.
Aaron Francisco, Cardinals "Hawaii Punch" had two tackles in the Cardinals 7th loss of the season to the Packers.
Brady Poppinga, Packers In the same game as Francisco, Poppinga had one tackle. To date Poppinga has 29 tackles on the season already more than his total last season (28).
Reno Mahe, Eagles Mahe had two punt returns totaling 12 yards. Mahe has only seen time in two games this season.
Itula Mili, Seahawks Mili had one reception for 4 yards in the seven point loss to the Trent Green-less Chiefs.
John Tait, Bears Tait continues to be a force on the undefeated Bears at Left Tackle, helping lead the Bears to 41 points on Sunday against the Alex Smith-led 49ers. If I was the 49ers this April I would find a QB, because Smith is going to be a bust.
Brian Billick, Head Coach, Ravens The former Cougar TE, Billick has the Ravens at 5-2 after a big win over the Saints.

Brady Poppinga, Packers Poppinga had an Interception in the Packers victory over the Dolphins. Poppinga also had 1 tackle.
Rob Morris, Colts Morris recorded 3 tackles in the Colts win against the Redskins.
Aaron Francisco, Cardinals Francisco had 1 tackle in the loss to the winless Raiders.
Itula Mili, Seahawks Mili had 1 reception for 3 yards. Mili now has a total of 8 receptions on the season.
John Denney, Dolphins Denney recorded a tackle against the Packers.
Brett Keisel and Chris Hoke, Steelers The two-headed monster of Keisel and Hoke continues to play well for the struggling Steelers. Keisel had 5 tackles, and Hoke had 1.

Aaron Francisco, Cardinals "Hawaiian Punch" had a Interception against the Bears on Monday night, which he returned for 44 yards. Francisco also had 3 tackles, he almost tackled Devin Hester in Hester's Punt return for a Touchdown. Below is the video of Francisco's Interception.
Brett Keisel and Chris Hoke, Steelers Keisel had 4 tackles, and Hoke had 1 unassisted tackle to help end the Steelers 3-game losing streak against the Chiefs.
Ryan Denney, Bills Denney had 2 tackles in the loss to the Lions.
Itula Mili, Seahawks Mili had 2 recptions for 18 yards in the 30-28 win over the Rams.
Colby Bockwoldt, Titans Bockwoldt finally given some playing time by Head Coach Steve Fisher had recorded 2 tackles in the victory over the Redskins.

ESPNU aired a show called "Honor Roll: 10 Greatest College Football Quarterbacks." BYU's Ty Detmer was on the list at #4. It was cool watching it, they had interviews with Lavell, Dick Harmon, Ivan Maisel, and writers from across the nation talking about Detmer. Cool to watch. Jim McMahon was the last QB listed on the "Depth Chart" (Honorable Mention) list. Here is ESNPU's list of the greatest QBs, along with the Honorable Mention list.

Reno Mahe, WR, Eagles In last night's Monday Night game saw his first real significant playing time of the season with 3 receptions for 19 yards.
Brady Poppinga, Packers Poppinga played in last night's Monday night game as well. Had 3 tackles in the loss to the Eagles.
Ryan Denney, Bills Denney added 2 more tackles to his season total. Denney now has 16 tackles on the season.
Gabe Reid, TE, Bears Gabe Reid had one reception for 19 yards in the Sunday Night game. John Tait started for the Bears at LT. The Bears destroyed the Seahawks in convincing fashion, 37-6.
Itula Mili, TE, Seahawks Mili saw his first action of the season since the season opener against Detroit. Had one reception for 15 yards.

Not many note worthy performances from former Cougars in Week 3 of the NFL.
Brady Poppinga, Packers Poppinga continues to have a solid season. Tied for the most tackles on defense for the Pakers on Sunday with 7 (6 solo, 1 assisted) in the Packers first victory of the season. Poppinga currently has 17 tackles on the season.
Ryan Denney, Bills Denney following up Week 2's amazing sack performance against the Dolphins had 4 tackles with no sacks in a loss to the Jets.

Player of the Week: Ryan Denney, DE, Bills Denney had three sacks within the first 17 minutes of play on Miami QB Daunte Culpepper. This is what Denney had to say from the
"It was a combination of confusing them as well as the pressure we put on them," said Denney, who also forced a fumble. "If there's pressure in your face, you can't run your offense, you can't wait for your receivers to get open."
Denney is an awesome player for the Bills and this game should be his coming out party on the big time NFL scene. Denney is currently 4th in the NFL with his 3 sacks.
Brady Poppinga, LB, Packers After his impressive opener against the Bears with 8 tackles. Poppinga had less of a impact against the Saints this past week with only 2 tackles in the loss, but still getting plenty of reps.
Rob Morris, LB, Colts Morris had 2 tackles in the win over the Texans. The Colts are off to another fast start at 2-0.
Aaron Francisco, S, Cardinals "Hawaiian Punch" recorded 2 solo and 2 assisted tackels at Qwest Field against in a loss to the Seahawks.
Brett Keisel and Chris Hoke, DL, Steelers The Cougar Duo on the Steeler D-Line each recorded 2 tackles on Monday Night Football in the lowest scoring in MNF history a 9-0 loss to the Jaguars.

Provo Pride will be following Cougar Alumni currently in the Pros. Here is how former Cougars fared in Week 1 around the NFL.
Player of the Week: Brady Poppinga, LB, Packers Poppinga was one of the few bright spots for the Packers in the 26-0 loss against the rival Bears. Poppinga in his first NFL start did not disappoint recording 7 solo tackles and 1 assisted. Poppinga along with 2006 1st Round draft choice A.J. Hawk are going to form a very good Linebacker unit in the Frozen Tundra.
John Tait, T, Bears Tait started his 34th straight game from the Left Tackle spot for the Bears. Went up against Poppinga a few times in the game.
Gabe Reid, TE, Bears Reid didn't play due to a back injury.
Itula Mili, TE, Seahawks Had 4 receptions for 24 yards in the win over the Lions (9-6)
Rob Morris, LB, Colts Recorded 5 tackles in the "Manning Bowl I" against the Giants. Morris now has 421 career tackles.
Aaron Francisco, S, Cardinals 3 tackles in the win over the 49ers. Came off the bench but continues to improve and could start later in the season.
Brett Keisel, DL, Steelers Keisel who in the off-season signed a 4-year contract extension played well with recording 3 tackles in the NFL season opener on Thursday against the Dolphins.
Provo Pride will continue to follow former Cougars throughout the entire NFL Season.
#21 Tim McTyer DB ('95-'96) McTyer came to Provo as a Junior College transfer out of Los Angeles and started immediately. McTyer had 120 tackles and 7 INT's in his career. McTyer was also a captain on that historic 1996 Cougar Squad. Honorable Mention: Jason Coloma DB, Dick Felt HB, Kelly Smith RB
#22 Mark Atuaia RB ('91-'96) Another solid Running Back in the Cougar backfield for that '96 season along with Ronney Jenkins and Brian McKenzie. Atuaia was an all-around type of player who could hurt his opposition in many areas. Had 1,247 rushing yards, 668 receiving yards and had 15 Touchdowns in his career. #23 Vai Sikahema HB/KR ('80-'85) A member of the 1984 National Championship team, Sikahema was a productive Running Back but his impact was made in the return game. Sikahema holds the NCAA record for most Punt returns in a career with 153. Sikahema had 1,312 Punt return yards, and 973 Kick return yards, three of those returns were taken for Touchdowns. Also, a member of the BYU Hall of Fame (2002).
